DJ Zinhle started her career around 2004. Initially, she wanted to be a TV presenter and never had any aspirations of being a DJ, until her brother's passion for mixing vinyl’s rubbed off on her and her love and passion for being a DJ grew. She got her first break as a resident DJ on a youth dance show called Jika Majika that aired on SABC 1.

In 2009 she released her first song “Pepe” that put her on the map. A pivotal year in her career was 2012, when she released the single that would become synonymous with her identity — My Name Is, featuring Busiswa. DJ Zinhle and DJ Maphorisa did the backing vocals to the track. Tracks including Colours, featuring Tamara Dey, and Umlilo, featuring Rethabile and Mvzzle, are some of the hits she’s released.

Throughout her career, DJ Zinhle has dedicated herself to empowering women in the male-dominated field of DJing. In 2009, she helped establish a school called Fuse which provides a haven for young women aspiring to master the craft.

DJ Zinhle, is a multifaceted woman excelling as an award-winning DJ, devoted mother, wife, and thriving entrepreneur.

 

Her brand Era By DJ Zinhle has become very popular among South African women and men. She started with watches and now retails all kinds of accessories. She has also branched into hair through her venture Hair Majesty by DJ Zinhle.


In 2021 DJ Zinhle launched her range of MCC, BLVD Signature edition Nectar rosé after acquiring equity in the Boulevard brand and was appointed CEO. She admits that Boulevard is still around but they are figuring things out in terms of a way forward with their future or whether they’re phasing it out.
As she celebrates 20 years of being in the entertainment industry DJ Zinhle is allowing herself to celebrate herself, something she doesn't do very often. She is hosting a highly anticipated festival Zee Nation Fest.
