What caught my attention was of course the Zanele Muholi’s exhibition Somnyama Ngonyama (meaning ‘Hail, the Dark Lioness’). This exhibit, at Radisson RED in Rosebank, includes ten photos from this series that take up large panels across the ground floor as well as at the rooftop bar. There are also accompanying sculptures. The photos are a series of self-portraits, a signature of Muholi, that exaggerate their pigmentation in them.
At Radisson RED hotels, art is not just limited to the visual sense. The brand also integrates music and performance art into the guest experience. Each hotel has its own resident DJ, and guests can enjoy live music performances and other cultural events. This creates a vibrant and engaging atmosphere, making the hotel a destination in itself.
