Think this is definitely one of my few favourite lodges in the Kruger National Park. By now you must have picked up that I enjoy nature and tranquillity. This is just it. Away from the busy city life and straight into a more laid back, sluggish, countryside type of vibe.
The lodge offers an African chic retreat in luxurious, thatched safari suites that recreate the ambiance of a colonial safari. The lodge artfully blends authentic African tradition with luxurious facilities, while providing exceptional and personalised service. There’s a magical “sofa safari” from the privacy of their own viewing deck.
The decor consists of fabrics and art pieces made by the local Tsonga community. Each suite features an opulent en-suite bathroom with stone baths and outside showers, as well as an expansive viewing deck that overlooks the river and plains that teem with wildlife.
The lodge facilities include a reception area, lounge area, dining area, swimming pool with a viewing deck, and in-room spa treatments. There is no Wi-Fi or mobile phone reception at this remote and exclusive lodge. Its architecture is unmistakable – this is a landmark eco-tourism property that respects both its human and animal neighbours.
Activities include guided bush walks, two game drives a day and Nomadic African Spa treatments.
The fusion of cultural elements can also be found in the delicious meals served at Hoyo Hoyo Safari Lodge, which offer a delicate balance of both traditional and European flavours and influences.
This earthy, traditional Tsonga-styled lodge offers luxury in the combination of the bush, traditional cuisine, and an unforgettable safari experience in the Kruger National Park. Unquestionably a must for your next shot ‘left!
